Team BuildingFew people work alone in today’s work environment. We all depend on others to get our work done. We are part of teams, work groups, ad-hoc committees, task forces, crews, etc. Collectively, we generate ideas, manufacture products, provide services, sell goods and much more. Our ideas and efforts combined with the ideas and efforts of others should result in performance excellence and high quality products and services. Every organization wants a top-performing team
doing its work. An
effective team outperforms a group, and outperforms all reasonable
expectations of its individual members. That is, a team produces
synergy, where the value of “one plus one” significantly exceed
the value of “two”! Strong
teams have members who are deeply committed to each other's personal
growth and success, as well as to the growth and success of the
entire team. WorkLife Consulting partners with individuals, departments and entire organizations to help develop strong, cohesive, top-performing teams. Your staff will learn to identify and use the necessary tools to make the most of interpersonal interactions. Managers and Supervisors will be able to discuss problems and challenges with others and take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead. They will also be able to reduce the potential for misunderstanding and miscommunication. As a result, there will be more trust in the environment. More trust means better creativity and better team retention and resiliency. Ultimately, Managers and Supervisors will be able to increase their level of job satisfaction AND help reach company goals by working smoothly with others while defining roles, objectives, responsibilities and assignments. We all live in an environment where the only constant is change. Accepting and dealing effectively with the many changes in assignments and projects is simply part of day-to-day life. The way that managers supervise and coach their employees under these conditions will significantly affect both job performance and job satisfaction for all parties involved. Our team-building services will help ease the negative effect of change on all levels of personnel, by bringing together the efforts of staff and leadership. We are successful at helping Managers and Supervisors learn and adapt to the necessary skills and proper behaviors to be successful at work as well as in their personal lives. MBTI Personality AssessmentIf only we could know a book by its cover or
people by their faces! Whether we’re searching for romance, a more
fulfilling career, or deeper communication with the people in our
life, understanding our own patterns and preferences is the first
step....The result of using the Myers-Briggs
Type Indicator® helps participants and
company teams to work better together.
Gary and Anita are both Certified
MBTI® Practitioners, and can show you many ways
to fully utilize the instrument. The Myers-Briggs tool is a measure of Jung's
theory of personality styles and is an invaluable aid to learning to
work with others in an organization or on a team.
It is the most widely used
personality inventory in the world, and the MBTI®
instrument provides an accurate picture of personality type by
assessing preferences on four scales: Ø
Where people prefer to focus
their attention and get their energy—from the outer world of
people and activity or their inner world of ideas and experiences Ø
How
people prefer to take in information—focused on what is real and
actual or on patterns and meanings in data Ø
How people prefer to make
decisions—based on logical analysis or guided by concern for their
impact on others Ø
How people prefer to deal
with the outer world—in a planned orderly way, or in a flexible
spontaneous way. Combinations of these
preferences result in 16 distinct personality types. Understanding
characteristics unique to each personality type provides insight on
how they influence an individual’s way of communicating and
interacting with others. Many companies use
personality assessment tools in the hiring process or somewhere in
the human resources processes, but very few companies actually
provide detailed feedback to their staff on the results of their
individual assessments. We are well-versed and well-practiced in offering this
feedback, which will help the use of the tool provide a better
return on investment to the entire organization. The MBTI®
instrument has a wide range of applications that promote personal
and professional growth and development. These applications include
executive development, leadership & coaching, organizational
development, team development, career management, conflict
resolution, retention, culture and diversity, and working
relationships. The instrument can be used in a variety of settings
including business, coaching, counseling and education. Participants in MBTI® workshops, classes, and coaching sessions will learn to: Ø Clarify individual and team behavior Ø Identify strengths and weaknesses of the team Ø Reduce unproductive work by matching assignments to team members Ø Use a framework for understanding and better handling conflict Ø Understand how different perspectives can lead to effective problem solving Ø Maximize a team’s diversity to reach more useful and insightful conclusions Ø Understand the uses of the MBTI and how it determines behavioral Types Ø Interpret individual results to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each Type Ø Determine the Type reflected in the individual company’s culture Ø Develop an action plan for improving internal communication Ø Understand why teamwork is often the best solution The MBTI® can be administered in a variety of ways, including individually or in groups. Anita and Gary have experience presenting this information to a wide variety of people, from entry level/unskilled laborers to senior executives. For more information

Conflict ResolutionMost conflicts don't end with clear-cut winners
and losers. Our skilled professionals help parties at odds
arrive at "win-win" resolutions to problems, along with
teaching them effective tools to help avoid similar difficulties in
the future. Many conflicts can be solved to the satisfaction of all through the use of appropriate assertiveness. Assertiveness skills include expressing and accepting personal rights and responsibilities, making direct requests and refusals, determining limitations, reinforcing verbal messages with non-verbal ones, giving and receiving praise, expressing disagreement and anger, and confronting others. These skills contribute to an employee’s ability to succeed in attaining personal and career goals. Positive and complete interpersonal communication skills must involve direct and honest expression of one’s needs, feelings, and opinions without threatening others. Assertiveness is an important step towards control over one’s own life and towards the building of positive relationships with others. By teaching Assertiveness Skills as a necessary part of Conflict Resolution, participants will learn to: Ø Implement the practical steps of assertiveness for self-improvement. Ø Master the fundamentals of assertiveness. Ø Understand cultural differences and adjust their style as required. Ø Set long-term/visionary goals. Ø Understand how assertiveness and conflict resolution styles affect others, and how to adjust those styles to gain commitment. Ø Build trust and reduce resistance to change. Ø Impact productivity and team effectiveness through sharpening their communication and interpersonal skills. Ø Effectively communicate and listen Ø More effectively resolve conflicts and confrontations Back to Top
Work-Life BalanceEveryone has family, personal responsibilities, and needs outside of work, whether it is the caring of children and/or elderly parents, or the pursuit of personal interests, activities or hobbies. Finding ways to accommodate these responsibilities and needs can make a real difference to employees and to an organization. Work-Life Balance is about creating supportive, healthy work environments for employees who are striving to better integrate their work and personal responsibilities. By implementing proactive programs and initiatives that support employees, organizations can strengthen employee commitment and loyalty, resulting in higher productivity, improved customer satisfaction and healthier bottom lines. Work-Life Balance policies can benefit an organization's bottom line AND provide other indirect benefits both to employees and employers. While some of these benefits might be more tangible and quantifiable than others, they can contribute to significant positive organizational gain. Many businesses are already seeing the benefits for themselves. Appropriate Work-Life Balance programs will help your organization in the following ways: Ø Reduced absenteeism Ø Increased accountability Ø Enhanced recruitment strategies Ø Better retention of good employees Ø Overall increased productivity and efficiency
